Incense

Yesterday I had the opportunity to spend the day with my mom and two nieces. We headed up to Lava Hot Springs for the day just to get out of town for a bit. Our first stop was to eat lunch, which turned out to not be that great. After that, we walked around town stopping at the little shops and browsing. But besides the museum (we stopped in there too) and other little shops, my favorite stop of the day was in Purple Moon. They make their own incense, and my mom was kind enough to buy all of girls some. There were so many smells that it was hard to chose from. I always get a calming effect from walking into that store, it never fails. It’s like my happy place. After leaving there, we came back to Pocatello and decided to go into Hobby Lobby. My oldest niece has never been inside one, so it was her first time. I couldn’t believe how excited and in awe she was of all the things you could buy, especially fake floral stuff (she has a hippy heart and soul I swear). They even helped me pick out some cute stuff for my beauty room. After that, I was dropped off back home to find two furbabies excited to see me (and Marcus too after he woke up). I had made chili in the crock pot earlier, so that is what we had for dinner. We hung out, watched Star Wars, and finally drug ourselves to bed at a semi reasonable hour. Now I’m sitting here waiting for him to come home from work, so we can drop the dogs off at my parents and he can go help Papa with a new water heater. It turned out to be a really good day, and one that I’ve needed for awhile. Thank you guys so much for all the love and support as always. Much love.

Silence is golden

We don’t remember what it’s like to be effortlessly floating in our mothers womb. Recently, I’ve had an experience that I think comes pretty close to that. While on vacation in Colorado, Marcus’s mom and I had the opportunity to experience a sensory deprivation tank. In our case, it was an open float which means you aren’t closed into any sort of pod. It looks like you’ve laid down in a big bathtub or bottom of a shower stall. Our experience was at a place called Easy Float which I will leave their website link down below so you guys can check them out. Walking into this calm, relaxing shop of theirs, we met the shop dog who was as sweet as can be, and the guy at the front desk. Since this was a first experience for the both of us, the guy talked us through how everything works, the procedure we use before entering our rooms (we each had our own for privacy), and addressed any questions we had. Since I suffer from anxiety, he gave me a small nightlight to keep on since they put you in total darkness. He showed us our rooms, and off we went. So basically what happens is you get into your room which has a shower and your float area inside. You strip off all your clothes (you can either float naked or in your swimsuit which is what I chose), shower to wash off all the extra oils on your body (make sure your shower isn’t too hot because the water in the tank is kept at body temp), put in your ear plugs since the water does have epsom salt in it, dry your face off because you aren’t allowed to touch it once in the salt water (self explanatory), and step into the salt water. After about 15 minutes all the lights in the room shut off as you begin your float. This was the coolest thing I have ever done. I would do it again in a heartbeat. After about 90 minutes or so (you can float longer if you wish, just let them know), music starts to play and the lights come back on. You stand up slowly out of the salt water since you’ve been floating on your back, wash off, take your your earplugs, dry off, and you can even have a cup of tea if you so wish. I had a blast, and I would recommend this to pretty much everybody. Thank you guys so much for all the love and support as always. Much love.

Munch and chill

So sorry about no post yesterday! I ended up staying with Bryce and Brit until Marcus got done and we didn’t get home until midnight. Today has been a super chill day. We had cajun shrimp and homemade salmon nuggets for lunch, and have been munching all day. Marcus made us spiked Arnold Palmers and they are so good. I ended up with shark week again, and I’m so excited my meds are working. We plan on drunk Diablo 3 in a little bit, and we’ve been watching studio ghibli movies all day. We even called Marcus’s sister this morning and wished her a happy birthday which ended up a Facebook face call for two hours. It’s pouring rain outside so we’ve got the window open and it smells and feels so good. But I just wanted to pump out this post before I get too snookered and can’t type. Anyways, thank you guys for all the love and support as always. Much love.

A busy day

Good evening everybody! We just got home a little bit ago from some serious shopping. Marcus only had to work for an hour this morning, so he came home let me get dressed, and we headed out the door. First stop, Petco. We grabbed Shatzie (who comes home in four days by the way) a new bed and a collar. Next stop, Walmart. We grabbed her a crate just like Toby’s but smaller, puppy shampoo, and blanket to bring her home in. We decided by then that us humans needed some food, so it was off to Chipotle. Sat down, ate lunch which consisted of burritos, and it was off to Cal Ranch to snag her first round of puppy shots. Ran in to the manager whom I know personally, chatted with him, and then paid for the shots. We decided to head up to mom and dad’s to drop off the rest of my burrito that I didn’t eat to them, and show them what we got. While being up at the house and getting puppy snuggles, Shatzie got her first round of shots (which she didn’t like one bit). Her collar fits like a glove, and she loves her new comfy bed and blanket. From there it was a quick run to Winco. We grabbed hash browns and ketchup, a new toy for Shatzie (a squeaky hedgehog), some yogurt, and of course the obligatory pot stickers. Now, we are back home with Toby dog who finally got a bath and did very very well (he hates baths). Elk steaks, eggs, and hash browns for dinner tonight along with some more Diablo III. Other then now being exhausted from all the running around, we had an awesome day and are probably going to end it with some leftover jell-o shots as well.
